The department was run from 2004 and over 2000 students have graduatedfromthe programme, with 5 years undergraduate programme or 3 years postgraduate programme.The undergraduate programme which has passed the National Specilty Evaluation, offering Bachelor of Engineering degree, is a broad-based course of study that provides the skills necessary for professional practice. In addition to the required planning and design courses, we not only enable a student’s development as a planner, but also further the discourse in or discipline by engaging the culture around us and expanding the traditions of planning thought and practice.The postgraduate programme, offering Master of Engineering degree, focuses on the fields of Rural Planning Method and Policy Research, Historical Culture Heritage Planning and Protection Technics, Urban Art Design and Theory, Urban Transportation Planning and Intelligent Controlling. Students will be immersed in the issues of design that have shaped the city and will develop critical thinking and methodologies of analysis by designing in the urban context. The course of study will examine a culture committed to design and to architectural practices that engage and challenge traditional and modernist orthodoxies.
